IPAR a signatory to AFOEM Health Benefits of Work

IPAR is now a signatory to the Australasian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (AFOEM) of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) Consensus Statement on the Health Benefits of Work.

Realising the Health Benefits of Work presents compelling international and Australasian evidence that work is generally good for health and wellbeing, and that long term work absence, work disability and unemployment generally have a negative impact on health and wellbeing.

The purpose of the consensus statement is to bring together a wide range of stakeholder signatories, who each affirm the importance of work as a determinant of health and commit to:

  • Promoting awareness of the health benefits of work;
  • Offering support and encouragement to those attempting to access the health benefits of work;
  • Encouraging employers’ continuing support of workers’ occupational health; and
  • Advocating for continuous improvement in public policy around work and health, in line with the principles articulated in the consensus statement.

IPAR a finalist in the 2014 BRW / GE Capital Momentum Mid-Market Awards

IPAR was yesterday named as a finalist in the BRW GE Capital Momentum Awards 2014, in the best Mid-Market Business category.

The BRW GE Capital Momentum Awards are Australia’s only awards for top Mid-Market companies, recognising high performance in revenue, profit and employee growth, as well as demonstrated innovation and industry leadership.

As stated in the BRW announcement “finalists in this year’s $10 million-$50 million revenue category are as varied as they are remarkable. They display a tenacity and determination to lead their respective category.”

“On the face of it, our four finalists this year – forex broker Pepperstone, workplace rehabilitation services provider IPAR, online wine merchant Vinomofo and schnitzel franchise Schnitz – have little in common… Yet they are all typical of mid-market players. They take full advantage of new opportunities for growth and punch well above their weight – key traits of this sector.”

Winners will be announced August 28, 2014 at the event to be held at the MCA in Sydney.

IPAR and Ronald McDonald House Charities

As part of our corporate social responsibility program, IPAR in the Community, IPAR has partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities as a national volunteer partner. Our partnership with RMHC provides IPAR team members with the opportunity to volunteer at one of the 14 Ronald McDonald Houses across Australia, whether it is cooking a meal for the families, running a working bee, having a baking day or undertaking ad-hoc fundraising to raise funds for their local house.

Our first volunteering event was held at the Monash, Victoria, House last week, with eight IPAR team members ‘cooking up a storm’ for the families and children currently staying at the house. The team prepared a hearty and warming three course dinner with plenty of leftovers packed away for coming days.

Next, we head to Ronald McDonald House Tamworth for a working bee, followed by Westmead, Sydney for another cooking event in August.
