IPAR a Finalist in Australian Insurance Industry Awards 2017

IPAR has been named a finalist in the category of ‘Service Provider to the Insurance Industry of the Year’ at the Australian Insurance Industry Awards, co-hosted by the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) and Asia Insurance Review.

This is the 14th year of the awards which celebrate the broader insurance industry, its services and innovation. The Service Provider category in particular focuses on businesses that support the industry to be more effective in their day to day operations and improve the lives of the many customers they work with.

There were 106 submissions in this year’s awards (a record number) and IPAR is the only rehabilitation provider shortlisted in the service provider category.

IPAR’s submission focused on the work undertaken in improving client’s lives through the many health benefits of good work, while limiting the financial and social impact of injury and illness on clients and the insurance industry. IPAR’s Positivum assessment and health coaching program was cited as an example of innovation in return to work services and how IPAR is constantly seeking to address emerging trends with the latest best practices.

Winners will be announced at the annual awards dinner, held on Thursday 31 August 2017.

As well as bringing home the award, Dorothy receives a prize to enable her to undertake a study tour around the world looking at innovation and best practice in our sector.

Dorothy has always shown commitment to the industry and readily shares her knowledge and thought leadership with our people and our stakeholders. Dorothy Frost finalist in two categories at the PIEF Awards 2016

Congratulations to Dorothy Frost, Manager, Research and Innovation, for her selection as a finalist in two award categories at the upcoming Excellence in Personal Injury and Disability Management Awards.

Dorothy has been selected as a finalist in the Innovation in Injury & Disability Management category, as well as for Outstanding Contribution by an Individual.

The purpose of these awards is “to celebrate and showcase the personal injury and disability management industry’s many outstanding achievements and to acknowledge its importance in the broader community.”

Dorothy’s finalist selection in the Innovation category is an acknowledgement of her work in the development of IPAR’s electronic biopsychosocial assessment and health coaching program, ‘Positivum’.

The impetus for Positivum was that for many of IPAR’s clients, making a full recovery and resuming work is a significant challenge. While the focus is often to secure work which accommodates the injury or health condition, literature indicates that beyond 3-6 months post injury, it is other factors which become more significant barriers to employment.

The Positivum assessment combines existing validated assessments with questions covering an individual’s beliefs and perceptions about recovery and work. It allows biopsychosocial factors and beliefs and perceptions to be identified early, and the subsequent health coaching program provides an effective means to address these barriers.

The presentation dinner for the awards will be held during the Personal Injury and Disability Management Conference in Sydney on Wednesday 12 October 2016. For further award details, please go to www.pief.com.au/2016awards/2016-award-finalists

5 Star result for IPAR South Australia

IPAR-5-Star-SA-Rating-MOO15071The South Australian Star Rating results have been announced by ReturnToWork SA. IPAR has been awarded the highest possible 5 Star Rating for pre-injury return to work services (one of only two providers to achieve this result). This measure takes into account RTW results (measured as liability reduction), case cost and case duration and has been shown to be very robust.

This is a significant achievement for our South Australian team, particularly as a relative new-comer to the market. Since the establishment of our Adelaide office in late 2013, we have applied our renowned focus on achieving positive outcomes for our customers, and this independently measured 5 Star result is a reflection of this commitment.

IPAR Managing Director, David Sagar states, “this is a great achievement and now places us as one of the two highest performing providers for same employer services in both SA and Victoria – the only two states where this performance is independently measured.”

IPAR retains 3 Star Rating for second consecutive quarter

IPAR-Golden-Stars-with-Ribbon-MOO15040-aIn the latest release of Star Ratings by the Victorian WorkCover Authority (VWA) IPAR has once again been awarded the highest possible 3 Star Rating for original employer services. We are one of only two providers (out of a total of 27) in Victoria to receive the top award, which is an independent measure of Return to Work performance.

This excellent result is particularly pleasing considering we have retained the 3 Star Rating for two consecutive quarters. Also noteworthy is that the 3 Star result was contributed to by all of IPAR’s 9 Victorian branches, from Mildura to Morwell and all key regions in between.

IPAR’s score is 13% above the scheme median result. This means that for every 100 referrals IPAR commenced, we returned 13 more people back to full time work than the scheme median – a real testament to the dedication of our people in achieving return to work outcomes.
